Corkmas Christmas Market

A NEW Christmas Market was set up on Emmett Place, complete with wooden chalets offering gifts and snacks, with the plaza transformed into a Christmas village consisting of a broad mix of vendors offering a range of festive delights and artisan crafts. Large, illuminated Christmas themed décor filled the market space from giant Candy Land displays, a Gingerbread House and Santa’s Post Box, where children posted their letters to Santa or simply enjoyed the magical festive surroundings and sights. A Snow Globe was also in operation for the full duration of the Christmas Market, where the whole family could step inside for the perfect Christmas family photo op.

This area also hosted the Corkmas Santa Experience, with the man himself in residence and available for a chat.

A varied programme of street entertainment found pop-up performances winding their way through the city at different times from Saturday 30th November to Saturday 22nd December, bringing joy for all age groups to enjoy in the form of stilt performers, walkabout curious and mischievous Christmas-themed characters, roving musicians, and drummers – all of which were free for the public to enjoy. These linked the Market to the Ferris Wheel and SOLAS, which returned as a stand-alone light and interactive music installation, relocated to Grand Parade for the duration of the festivities.

The Corkmas Festive Market ran from Friday 22nd November to Sunday 22nd December 2024. It operated each week from Thursday to Sunday.
